Animal magic

Being around wild animals never fails to soothe me, whatever my mood.

This could just be feeding the ducks on the canal near our house or watching the squirrels try to get to the seeds in our garden bird feeders.

If I see a woodpecker or a kingfisher, my spirits soar.

Dudley Zoo isn’t exactly the wild, but bonding with a black capped lory helped brighten my day during sad times.

  1. I’ve had moments whilst driving, when I’ve genuinely toyed with the thought ‘would veering into the hedgerow be such a bad thing, if it means I don’t have to move my eyes away from joyous fascination I am finding in watching every move of this Red-kite soaring on the warm breeze above me’.
